Benefitting the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley

I’m excited to share California Closets New York’s (CCNY) great work in supporting the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley, which serves families in need of shelter when their kids stay at Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.

California Closets volunteer shows finishes to Ronald McDonald House employeeAs part of a “Design Hope” initiative, CCNY, among other industry designers and suppliers, reimagined and improved the Ronald McDonald House. We installed 6 storage units in 5 spaces and proudly helped with staging.

As an immigrant who came to this country 14 years ago with a newborn in tow, and as someone who went through many ups and downs, community places like this home always were a big help for me. After I visited the Ronald McDonald House and learned about its mission, I was inspired to help.

There were several spaces where I saw they desperately needed storage solutions: the lobby – where we set up a couple bookshelves and filled them with kids’ books; the main hall – where we installed deeper storage units with doors; multiple laundry rooms – which we reorganized to make them as comfortable and kid-friendly as possible; and a suite.

We ended up donating $30,000 worth of storage solutions, thanks to our CEO, Rob Donaldson. Our team of four installers worked together to install our donations on September 17, and we were excited to be a part of the cause.
