California Closets is known for its commitment to excellence and creating beautifully organized spaces, but did you know that they’re also dedicated to making a positive impact in their local communities?
In March, the Fort Myers team was honored with California Closet’s inaugural Social Purpose Award, recognizing their exceptional commitment and dedication to giving back. This award is a testament to the team’s unwavering passion for making a difference and creating a lasting impact on those around them.
Their passion and drive were on full display as they threw their support behind their local cause, the Pace Center for Girls. This incredible organization helps young women build brighter futures by providing education, counseling, and advocacy services. The California Closets team showed outstanding dedication and commitment to this cause, resulting in a well-deserved $2,500 donation made in their name. By giving back to their community in such a meaningful way, the team is setting an example for others to follow and making a lasting impact on the lives of those in need. Congratulations to the California Closets team on their incredible achievement and their unwavering commitment to making the world a better place!
The Fort Myers team wasn’t the only one making a difference – California Closets also recognized the efforts of their teams in Los Angeles and Toronto! Both teams were named runners up for their exceptional work with Compton Avenue Elementary System Academy and UC Parachute — an organization focused on helping families in Ukraine — respectively, earning each team a $1,000 donation.
We had the opportunity to catch up with the Fort Myers team and hear about their experiences with the Social Purpose Award. They shared with us their enthusiasm for the cause and the incredible impact they were able to make together as a team. Congratulations to all the winners and runners up – your hard work and dedication to your communities are truly inspiring
1. This is the first year that California Closets has had the Social Purpose Award. What does this award mean to you and your team, and how does reflect our Brand’s position around Belonging?
A sense of belonging is one of humanity’s most basic needs, and it can provide pride and identity. For us, a sense of belonging can be created and maintained by giving back to our community because without our community we would not be here. This award recognizes those efforts, and at the end of the day this award is shared with our teams with honor and pride.
2. Why was it important for you to work with Pace Center for Girls?
Pace provides girls and young women an opportunity for a better future through education, counseling, training, and advocacy. Pace helps girls that were and are at risk, so that they do not go into abusive situations. This education is extremely important to prevent the girls from ending up homeless, in a shelter, or other.
3. What impact did your work with Pace Center for Girls have on them and/or on you team?
For our team it has been a wonderful bonding opportunity and providing an out of office environment to give back to our community. Through working with Pace, our team has been able to not only know resources available in our community but also have a larger purpose and impact in life.
4. What advice would you give other teams to encourage them to participate in social purpose activities?
Social purpose activities create an opportunity to bond, learn, and grow with your teams. It is where you can learn so much more about who and what your team members have personally gone through, but also provide an outlet for any of their needs. Additionally, it shows what your passionate about and aligns people with similar core values. Social purpose activities bring people together, fosters empathy, and Unites people from diverse backgrounds to work toward a common goal.
