In May, the team at LIVunLtd continued its annual tradition of showing support for those struggling with mental illness by participating in the NAMI Walk. The LIVunLtd team gathered on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in New York City to walk a 5K in support of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI-NYC), as part of Mental Health Awareness Month. NAMI-NYC helps families and individuals affected by mental illness build better lives through education, support, and advocacy.
“This annual event is a meaningful tradition for our team, serving as a show of solidarity with their community and a commitment to mental health and wellbeing for all,” said Lifestyle Director Margaret Wang. “We’re proud to help raise awareness, spark conversations, and shed light on topics that matter deeply but are too often stigmatized.”
The team at Planned Companies participated in one of their favorite service activities at the Grow It Green Farm in Morristown, NJ, marking their third year of service on the farm.
“We continue to support this organization because of their mission to bring education to children in vulnerable communities,” said Lisseth Montecinos, senior specialist, benefits and wellness. “They promote health to strengthen communities through urban agriculture, discovery based learning and equitable food access.”
The team got their hands dirty by doing some repairs around the farm while also having a lot of fun. Additionally, they donated another $2,000 that will go towards expanding access to the farm amongst other initiatives in the Morristown school district.
The North Region team, joined by colleagues from FirstService Corporation and the Ontario team, had the opportunity to volunteer at Knights Table in Brampton. Knights Table is an organization committed to supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.
“We helped prepare and serve lunch to community members, stock the food bank and distribute items, and assemble hampers from the food hub that supports other food banks in the community,” said event organizer and Manager, Communications & Engagement (North Region) Temo Primrose Gare. “It was a powerful reminder of the difference we can make when we come together for a shared purpose. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and to Knights Table for the incredible work you do every day.”
Chair of the Social Purpose Committee at FirstService Corporation, Ali Abdullah, manager, compliance and risk management, shared, “On behalf of the Social Purpose Committee, thank you to everyone who volunteered at the food bank and soup kitchen. Your time, energy, and compassion made a meaningful impact on the community and truly embodied the spirit of service.
It was a very humbling and rewarding experience. It’s eye-opening to see how many people face food insecurity. It was inspiring to see our team come together with a shared purpose – to help others and make a real difference. Thank you again for stepping up, supporting those in need, and representing our company with heart.”

The American Pool team is in the final month of its three-month donation drive to support the Maryland Food Bank. Colleagues are invited to participate this month by dropping off non-perishable food items, or by making a donation to their virtual food drive.
They’ve set up multiple ways to contribute:
• In-Person Donations:
o Donation boxes are located outside the American Pool Maryland office, at Rollins Congressional in Rockville and at the VA office.
• Virtual Donations:
o For your convenience, you can also donate online through this link: https://mdfoodbank.fenly.org/drive/american-pool-virtual-food-drive/
o Please feel free to share the link with friends and family to help us reach our goal.
• Donation Suggestion:
o While healthy food options are essential, consider donating a birthday cake kit. This includes a disposable pan, cake mix, frosting, candles, and a can of Sprite (to substitute for eggs and oil). This simple gesture can bring joy to children facing financial hardship.
Your donations will help provide meals for families facing food insecurity in our community.
