On the night of Nov 20, 2021, my son was stabbed six times and was rushed to the hospital. My husband and I were alerted by him what had happened and rushed to the hospital. By the time we got there, they did not know if he was going to make it, and they were giving him blood and rushing him to surgery. We had to tell him how much we loved him, and goodbye, no one knew if he was going to make it.
The following 48 hours were the scariest of my life, not knowing if he would make it, and I barely left his side at the hospital for the next five days we were there. Paul Davis Restoration was wonderful, and one of my colleagues and friends reached out to me and educated me more on the FirstService Relief Fund once I was able to get a handle on everything with my son. They helped with paying some of the medical bills that I needed to have paid ASAP while the lawyers and police, and victims’ advocacy groups were all playing their roles in getting everything they needed to do as well.
It was a relief to get that financial aid for his medical bills and the care that he needed during that time. He is now healthy and happy and, actually, now a part-time employee of Paul Davis until he leaves for the military in the next six months.
This is a wonderful program that is offered and we are all so grateful for the support we received during the scariest time of our lives.
