Honoring the Memory of David and Bonnie Epstein: FirstService Residential Scholarship Program

On June 24, 2021, our FirstService family was deeply affected by the tragic collapse of the Champlain Towers South in Surfside, Florida. This devastating event claimed the lives of David and Bonnie Epstein, leaving a profound void in the hearts of all who knew them.

David Epstein’s journey with FirstService began in 1997 with the acquisition of Wentworth Property Management in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He went on to assume a variety of leadership roles within the company prior to his retirement in 2018. A dedicated lifelong learner, David believed passionately in the potential of the company’s associates and the critical role of training and education.

In honor of David and Bonnie’s enduring belief in education, FirstService Residential has established a scholarship program to support the educational pursuits of our associates and their families.

This scholarship program is designed to assist associates in the U.S. or Canada, as well as their children, grandchildren, or spouses, who wish to pursue higher education at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or CEGEP institution.

This year’s scholarship recipients are Isabella Mixton-Garcia and Juliann McNulty.

Isabella Mixton-Garcia

daughter of Vanessa Mixon-Garcia, assistant account manager in Sahuarita, AZ, is a 2024 high school graduate. She will pursue a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at Vanderbilt University.

Juliann McNulty

daughter of Timothy McNulty, facilities manager in El Dorado Hills, CA, is a nursing student at Northwest Nazarene University.

Their aspirations highlight the critical role of educational support in turning dreams into reality. Isabella and Juliann will each receive a $5,000 scholarship.

Administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and educational support programs, this initiative ensures a fair and thorough evaluation process. Eligibility for the program is determined by the sponsor, and applications are meticulously reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

We send heartfelt congratulations to Isabella and Juliann and we look forward to their continued success.
