All Hands on Deck to Help Hungry Children
Did you know more than three million children die from hunger every year? Every 10 seconds a child dies from malnutrition, and nearly half of all deaths among children under five years of age are caused by hunger.*
These statistics are heart-wrenching, and fortunately, organizations like Feed My Starving Children are here to help.
For the past five years, First Onsite has been a proud supporter of Feed My Starving Children. Each year, the organization hosts a Mobile Food Pack which is an opportunity for caring people to gather together to help pack nutritious meals to be shared with needy children around the world. First Onsite sets a goal to pack a staggering 100,000 meals each year, and the company has met or exceeded its goal every year it has participated.
At this year’s event, 520 volunteers from First Onsite, FirstService Residential, and FirstService Corporation rolled up their sleeves and got to work. The team packed 101,088 meals, providing food for 276 children for an entire year!
This event came to life after Rene Vargas, regional vice president at First Onsite, saw a friend’s Chicago company host the event. He was inspired to host one for his team, their family and friends, and other community members.

“When I first heard about FMSC, the impact, the scale, and the community involvement, I knew it was a perfect fit for us culturally. To pack over 100,000 meals in a day with your teams, clients and community is very rewarding. We’re stronger together when and local and global forces unite,” said Vargas.
Thanks to First Onsite and its dedicated team of volunteers, half a billion meals have been packed to help starving children worldwide.

About Feed My Starving Children
Every year, millions of children die from preventable causes such as pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria and undernutrition. Hunger is still causing nearly half of the deaths in children under 5 years old. From this data, we estimate at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition. This is heartbreaking.
Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) believes hope starts with food. As a Christian nonprofit, FMSC is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. FMSC works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development.
FMSC meals are developed by food science and nutrition professionals to supplement nutritional needs and reduce problems with malnutrition. Nutrition allows children to grow, thrive and develop to their full potential.
