Several members of the California Closets Human Resources Team took some time off on July 15-16 to lend a helping hand to hometown organizations committed to doing good in the world.
Carol Summersgill and Tina Lawrence volunteered at Packages from Home in Glendale, AZ, prepping more than 1,000 boxes to be packed and shipped to those serving in the military.
Daniel J. Collins spent time Friday and Saturday afternoon with some of the residents at the Stonebridge at Montgomery, an assisted living facility in Skillman, NJ, helping move furniture, organize paperwork, and more.
“It was a pleasure to listen to their stories and learn more about their lives before Stonebridge. I was grateful for the opportunity to meet these interesting people, and I am certain that I will be called back for follow up ‘pick-things-up-and-put-things-down’ requests!” — Dan Collins
Sophia Vasquez prepared packages of food at the mobile market of St. Mary’s Food Bank, a community-based organization in Phoenix, AZ, that helps to feed individuals and families in many counties throughout the state.
“I was so excited to lend a hand at my local bookstore, Hudson Valley Books for Humanity, in Ossining, NY. The store sells new and previously loved books, features artisan products, and hosts events focused on social justice and environmental issues.” – Allison King
